This morning the cruise ship Veendam with Holland America cruise line docked in Mazatlán. Although the number of passengers on board was not known, the ship has a capacity for 1,350 passengers and a crew of 580.

The Veendam called upon Mazatlán last Wednesday, December 24th. The Veendam will finish its 2013-2014 season by returning to Mazatlán on March 12th, 19th, and 26th.

Tomorrow will see the Norwegian Star dock for the day in Mazatlán. The cruise ship Norwegian Star is somewhat larger than the Veendam with a passenger capacity of 2,240 passengers. Like the Veendam, the Norwegian Star was in port last week.

The Norwegian Star will return to Mazatlán on March 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th, when it concludes its 2013-2014 season.

So far this season five cruise ships have called on Mazatlán bringing a total of over 7,000 passengers. Statistics show that on average a passenger will spend between $80 and $100 while in port.
