International Airline Seats for Mazatlán to Grow by 20%

Francisco Córdova Celaya, Secretary of Tourism for the State of Sinaloa, told reporters that for the 2014-2015 season Mazatlán will see a 20% increase in the number of international airline seats. He said that for the current season the city saw 157,000 passenger seats on international flights into Mazatlán. The Secretary said that number will grow to 200,000 for the next season.
Francisco Córdova Celaya said that a meeting led by Carlos Berdegué Sexton, vice president of the Association of Hotels and Tourism Companies of Mazatlán, with multiple airlines resulted in the good news. He added that specifics of the increase in passenger seats could not be given, as the airlines are just now requesting their permits for the next season.
Carlos Berdegué said that this season showed good results for the airlines and this encouraged airlines to increase their service to Mazatlán during the 2014-2015 season from the cities of Denver, Edmonton, and Minneapolis, among others.
