The plan is to have the promo packages available in restaurants, hotels, airlines and cruise ships.
Beginning January 1, 2015, Mazatlán and its tourist attractions will be publicized on sugar substitute packages for coffee drinkers.
The promotion campaign was revealed following a meeting between Sugar Foods, Café Marino, the Sinaloa Secretary of Tourism and representatives of Mazatlán tourism associations, restaurant councils, the Convention Center and Grupo Panamá restaurant chain.
The campaign will begin with the distribution of Sugar Foods “N´Joy” sugar substitute packages with the name “Mazatlán” on one side and on the other a phrase describing one of the city´s attractions such as the aquarium, the Malecón or a local gastronomic dish.
The first point of distribution will be Sam´s Clubs in Sinaloa, as well as hotels and restaurants.
Lino Suárez Guzmán, President of Sugar Foods México, explained the strategy would be at no cost to the State and the plan is to have the promo packages available in restaurants, hotels, airlines and cruise ships. As well, he commented, the campaign will help promote colonial destinations, historic sites and traditional Mazatlán celebrations.
The second stage of the campaign will begin in March, 2015, said Suárz Guzmán and will encompass images of other Sinaloa tourist attractions in Los Mochis, Culiacán and diverse Pueblos Mágicos.
The initial promotion will consist of 15 distinct Mazatlán tourism attractions. Sinaloa Secretary of Tourism, Franciso Córdova Celaya, commented that the promotion was important to strengthen the State´s tourism image and applauded Sugar Foods for donating 10 percent of sales to hospitals, schools, family services and other civil associations.
